Target group

This course is designed to meet the needs of teachers, coordinators, administrators, and lecturers at all levels wishing to gain greater understanding of teaching, assessment, curriculum and research expertise in science education.

Core subjects

• EDF6401 Research on teaching and learning science and mathematics
• EDF6402 Research on science and mathematics curriculum
• EDF6421 Technology, science and society

Elective subjects

• EDF6404 Assessment of student learning
• EDF6425 Technology in the curriculum
• EDF6443 Computer control and interfacing in education
• or students may choose other elective subjects relevant to their course from those that are timetabled in 2001 after approval from the course coordinator

Research subject

A research elective such as EDF6001 Research methodology must be included if the student intends taking up a research project option.

Research project

• research project of approximately 10,000 words - 12 credit points (option two) or
• research project of approximately 20,000 words - 24 credit points (option three)
