The course is designed to provide teachers with an understanding of a range of issues and an understanding of research as it relates to music education.
The
course comprises three core subjects plus one elective subject and a 24-point
research project of approximately 20,000 words.

One elective may be chosen from among the 12-point masters subjects offered by
the faculty in music education or in other areas complementary to the student's
program of study, as approved by the course coordinator.
