Master of Diplomacy and Trade


General information

The course has been designed to provide high-level training in the fields of international trade, diplomacy, economics, international law and environmental law policies, and contemporary international politics. It would contribute to the development of private and public sector managers engaged in international trade, the diplomatic staff, workers in international organisations and NGOs, and other professionals interested in these areas.
The degree can be completed by either a coursework option or by a coursework and research paper option. Applicants require a pass degreeor the eqivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution or an executive certificate from this faculty with an average grade of credit or above. This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of Management as to the 2001 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change. A limited number of departmental scholarships covering tuition fees may be available.
Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of six credit exemptions for subjects considered to be equivalent to particular subjects in the course of study. Refer to the course director for further details.

Eectives may be selected from other graduate subjects taught by the Department of Management, providing the selection meets overall course objectives and with course director approval. In place of elective(s), students may study a research paper equivalent to one to six subjects.
