Synopsis: Musical, aesthetic, social and ritual concepts and practices as expressed in the musical life of Indonesian cultures, with particular reference to selected performances of music and dance, the relationships between music and the related arts, and the topology of musical instruments in Indonesia.

Assessment: Written (2500 words): 40% + Examination (3 hours): 45% + Assignments (500 words): 15%
