Music composition and technology workshop

6 points + First semester + 3 hours per week + Clayton + Prerequisites: MUS2660, MUS2670

Synopsis: Theory and practice of contemporary musical composition. Students study selected works, compare works for different combinations and styles, write program notes on each composition, and work with other students to perform their compositions in a public concert.

Assessment: Written (composition folio consisting of two original works - content 30%, notation 20%, presentation, 20%): 70% + Workshops and concert performance of at least one original work: 30%
