Synopsis: The management of people as individuals and in groups in different types of organisations. The systems and institutions within which organisations operate. Human resource management practices. External institutional influences on managing people. Contemporary management issues including the principles and practices by which organisational change is introduced and managed.

Assessment: Written (assignments 1000 words and 2000 words): 10% and 20% + Tutorial participation 10% + Examination (2 hours) 60%
