Synopsis: This subject provides a comparative study of industrial relations in different countries, and examines similarities and differences in national industrial relations systems. Emphasis is given to Australia0s trading partners among developed eastern and western market economies. Issues include industrial relations in multinational enterprises; trends in unionism; influence of economic, political, social and cultural environments; management strategies; international unionism.

Assessment: Written (assignment 3000 words): 30% + Tutorial paper and participation: 20% + Examination (2 hours): 50%
