Synopsis: A multidisciplinary industry-based project involving procedures for the research, planning and development work associated with introducing a product into the commercial arena. Ascertaining marketing requirements. Supplier networking and sourcing of componentry. Analysis of materials usage and costing procedures. Application of VA-VE techniques. Predictions of performance. Arriving at a specification for production. Documentation for manufacture.

Assessment: Written reports: 75% + Oral presentation: 25%
