Synopsis: Furniture design types and production. History of furniture design. Basic aspects of ergonomics. Production processes in timber. Polymers and metals. Structure. The aesthetic aspects of furniture. The identification of user needs. Furniture as sculptural elements. Furniture as components of the interior environment and its contribution to spatial ambiance.
