Synopsis: Past and present media policy issues, approaches to media audiences and relations between media and citizenship. Elements in policy formation, implementation and assessment, and the range of media activities to which a /policy0 focus may be appropriate. Past and current debates over audiences and their conception. Ways of describing and analysing technological developments and their likely social, political and economic consequences.

Assessment: Essay one (1800 words):40% + Essay two (2200 words):45% + Annotated dossier (500 words):15%
