8 points + 3 hours per week + First semester + Gippsland, distance + Prerequisites: GSC1901, GSC1402 or equivalents and one of GSC2407, GSC2406, GSC2405

Synopsis: Writing skills and techniques, eg the compositional skills found in forms such as prose fiction, feature articles, reviewing, travel writing, autobiography, biography and the essay. The cultural and social contexts of writing. The relation between print and visual material. Editing and preparing of copy for publication.

Assessment: Journal (3000 words): 50% + Major project (3000 words): 50%
