Synopsis: GRN1115 is for students with little or no knowledge of the language. Part 1: Language. A communicatively oriented German language course designed for all-round development in the language. Part 2: German social and cultural history from the eighteenth century to the First World War. An introduction to the history and culture of German speaking countries from the eighteenth century to the First World War.
Assessment: Examinations (3 hours): 75% + Regular short homework exercises: 25%
