Synopsis: Students undertake a project related to a realistic industrial problem or a specific area of research, planning, developing and executing a solution over a period of 15 weeks and presenting the findings in an oral presentation and final detailed written report. Project topics are agreed in consulation with a campus-based supervisor. Where projects are carried out in conjunction with an outside body, an industry-based supervisor is also appointed. Students are expected to maintain close contact with their supervisors and are required to keep a logbook and present a final report detailing the outcome of the project at the end of the semester.
Assessment: Based on the logbook, final report and oral presentation: 100%
