Field excursion

6 points + Second semester + Broken Hill + Two weeks over the mid-semester break + Prerequisite: ESC2061 + Prohibitions: ESC3011, ESC3022, ESC3051, ESC3062 (refer to department for advice)

Synopsis: A two-week field camp either during the mid-year vacation or the mid-semester break in second semester. Students should check dates at enrolment. The camp will involve geologic and form surface mapping in deformed sedimentary and metamorphic rock successions. Mapping techniques will be taught.

Assessment: Geological map and cross section: 60% + Field performance: 10% + Written report: 30%
