Synopsis: Principles of electromagnetism and wave propagation based on the use of Maxwell0s equations to analyse the properties of more complicated structures such as transmission lines, plane interfaces, optical waveguides, antennas and cylindrical metallic waveguides.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory work: 20% + Assignments: 10%
