Synopsis: Dynamic page design with scripting. Principles of object oriented scripting languages. Client side scripting: scripting language structure and syntax, scripting events and using event handlers, creating objects and using built-in objects, objects and navigation, dynamic HTML and browser objects. Applications for scripting in animation, data validation, data persistence and user interaction. An introduction to server side scripting. Designing large-scale web sites: organisational frameworks, grouping content, using hierarchies. Visual design reflecting the organisational framework, design for page elements, page layouts. Innovative web technologies.

Assessment: Project 40% + Examination (3 hours) 60%
