Technology management for scientists II

Objectives On successful completion of this subject students should be able to: demonstrate a knowledge of Australian and regional technology based industry, OHSE issues and practice, intellectual property and contracts, legislative issues; utilize appropriate databases and the internet to obtain relevant information; participate in the preparation of risk assessments, patents and contracts.

Synopsis This subject will include a discussion of modern approaches in the following topics. Topic 1: the economic context of technology based industries in Australia and Asia. Topic 2: the legislative framework governing technology based industries, including intellectual property, contracts, responsible care, government structures. Topic 3: codes of practice, risk assessment, storage and transport, environmental issues, product stewardship.
