Sample surveys

Objectives On the completion of this subject, students will know the various types of sample survey (eg stratified sampling, cluster sampling); understand the theory underlying sampling; know the practical advantages and disadvantages of different sampling strategies.

Synopsis Sampling designs: simple random, systematic, stratified, one-stage cluster sampling designs; ratio and regression estimation. Practical aspects.

Assessment Examination (2 hours): 85% - Assignments and/or tests: 15%
