Objectives This subject aims to introduce concepts and practical techniques of geological mapping; bring together concepts learnt in other geology units in the production of a geological map.
Synopsis A two-week-long field camp will take place either during the mid-year vacation or the mid-semester break in second semester. Students should check dates at enrolment to avoid clashes. The camp will involve geologic and form surface mapping in deformed sedimentary and metamorphic rock successions. Mapping techniques will be taught.
Assessment Geological map and cross section: 60% - Field performance: 10% - Written report: 30%
