Prerequisites: MGA0007

Objectives On completion of this subject it is expected that the student will have presented material to the class group on a regular basis and have demonstrated the ability to apply the theory of group psychoanalysis at an advanced level to the patient group to achieve therapeutic outcomes. It is also expected that the student will be able to make meaningful interpretations with regard to work presented by other members during the supervisory sessions.

Synopsis Students enrolled in this subject will have access to a number of patients through their own clinical work. The group will be essentially the same group which they selected as part of the subject MGA0007. The students will continue twice-weekly sessions of one hour each as group conductor, as part of their professional work, and participate in weekly experiential supervision with the class group (1.5 hours each) as described in MGA0007.

Assessment Assessment will be made through reports given by the supervisor on the candidate's ability to make observations and apply theoretical knowledge: 100%.
