Objectives On completion of this subject students will be able to define and analyse different phases of a project and apply project management techniques to control resources and project schedules.

Synopsis This subject provides an understanding of the different phases of planning, scheduling and controlling projects. The main topics include cost estimating techniques; network techniques; network techniques; time analysis and scheduling; resource allocation, scheduling, constraining and levelling; project costing, project scheduling and project control; risk identification and project quality; example applications in both manufacturing and service industries; review of commercially available software and use of PC-based project management package.

Assessment 2 Assignments: 40% - Examination (3 hours): 60%
