Objectives At the completion of this subject, students will understand the key concepts of multivariable calculus and complex analysis; have developed skills in the evaluation of both vector calculus operators and multiple integrals; understand the conditions under which techniques are applicable; appreciate some applications of the theory in an engineering context.
Synopsis Vector analysis including gradient, divergence and curl; line and multiple integrals including integration over curves, surfaces and solids; complex analysis including complex numbers, analytic functions and residues.
Assessment Examination (2 hours): 80% · Tests and assignments: 20%
