Objectives The student is expected to gain familiarity with reliability applications in different industrial environments and basic knowledge of the practical reliability implementation through a closely supervised reliability project.
Synopsis The subject is designed to give the candidate the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained from the course to practical problems related to their work environment. This half-a-subject-worth project will be conducted under joint supervision from the university and the candidate's organisation. The other half of the subject will be designed to expose the candidate to the application of reliability in various engineering systems. The topics covered in this section will include reliability of electric power systems, electronic systems, mechanical systems, software. The above-mentioned topics will be offered concurrently with the project section of this subject. That will give the candidate the opportunity for an oral presentation on the project during the residential school of the second semester.
