Objectives The student is expected to develop a deeper understanding of various fluid flow patterns and forces exerted on the solid surfaces by the flow. The student is expected to understand the theoretical and experimental formulae used to describe some typical flow patterns.

Synopsis Review of basic fluid mechanics. Boundary layer theory. Drag and lift. Potential flow and equations. Compressible flow. Dimensional analysis.

Assessment Examination: 70% · Assignments and experimental report: 30%
