Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have developed critical skills in assessing and evaluating the level/s and types of reading done by children, recognising major factors involved in a child's reading development and to plan accordingly to extend that development; understand the range of measures both formal and informal; evaluate measures and identify students' strengths and weaknesses.
Synopsis This subject requires students to identify and interpret difficulties in reading. A wide range of assessment techniques will be used and inclusive strategies will be implemented to promote literacy success. Students will become familiar with a range of curriculum documents for the linking of assessment with teaching and learning.
Assessment Two essays (1000 words each): 25% each - Report (2000 words): 50%
