Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should be able to comprehend the role of information technology and telecommunications in the delivery of training; select and use appropriate hardware and software for the creation of a variety of multimedia elements; design a training package which incorporates many of the technologies that have evolved from the convergence of information technology and telecommunications; and develop a multimedia training package which uses elements of these technologies.
Synopsis This subject has been developed in response to radical change which is occurring in the way education and training are being delivered. The convergence of information technology and telecommunications is the catalyst for this change. The opportunities that have become available to providers of education and training, together with strategies for adapting to the change, are discussed in this subject. Students will also acquire skills in the use of new technologies through the development of multimedia applications which may be used in a range of educational settings.
Assessment Assignment (2000 words): 30% - Multimedia project: 70%
