Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should understand the major principles that need to be considered in teaching motor skills; understand the importance of effective learning in skill acquisition; understand the different stages of skill acquisition and why a teacher/coach needs to assess which stage a child has reached; be able to put into practice skill-learning sessions considering practice, motivation and feedback principles.

Synopsis This subject examines principles of motor skill learning and performance; stages of skill acquisition; practice and static learning; motivation and skill learning; feedback and skill learning.

Assessment Examination: 40% - Written (1500 words): 30% - Practical test: 30%
