Action and memory: the dynamics of community information

This subject looks at community information from a broad social perspective, exploring the ways in which communities are defined. It examines the role information plays in the way communities function; how information processes facilitate community action; how information is captured as a form of corporate memory; and how all of these intertwine. It considers community groups in relation to the social mainstream and investigates the empowering role of information with reference to marginalised groups.
