Electronic publishing

This subject provides students with a broad overview of the current state of the art and deals with the main issues relating to electronic publishing in various forms. These include technical, legal and commercial issues as well as the implications of the changing nature of publishing. The course has a practical focus and evaluates the effectiveness of CD-ROM and Internet publishing. Students will also develop a World Wide Web site, allowing hands-on access to the software and a more immediate examination of the issues.
