Professional practice (librarianship)

Links the theoretical concepts of librarianship to professional practice in the workplace. Students gain an insight into a range of library and information service environments through a fieldwork placement and professional visits. Students are introduced to the literature of librarianship. The role of professional associations and professional issues relating to librarianship are also considered.
