The Master of Management has been designed to provide students with the
analytical skills required to meet the changing needs of business. It offers
students a detailed understanding of the management process through a
structured study program of higher-level subjects from the graduate offerings
of the Departemnt of Management. The degree can be completed by either a
coursework option or by a coursework and research paper option. The course
material is presented at an advanced level and will build upon prior studies in
management.
On completion of the course, students will have:
Candidates need to have completed, with an average grade of credit or above, either an honours degree in a relevant discipline, or the Graduate Diploma in Business Management, or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of Management as to the 1999 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.
Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of four credit exemptions for subjects considered to be equivalent to particular requirements in the course of study. Please refer to the course director for further details.
Classes are offered in evening, and/or Friday/Saturday teaching modes at Caulfield campus.
The Master of Management is normally completed in two semesters of full-time study or four semesters of part-time study.
The
course consists of eight subjects:
(a) Two core subjects
(b) Four other graduate subjects from the offerings of
the Department of Management*;
(c) Two other subjects from the graduate offerings of the Department of
Management or two subjects taught by other departments in the faculty, or, in
approved instances, from other faculties*.

(c) A research paper of 20,000 words maximum length.
