Objectives Building on the understanding gained from initial human resource management studies and core business subjects, students will explore strategic human resource management and identify specific stages of the policy development process. The aims of the subject are to foster skills in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of human resource management policies directed to the most efficient and effective achievement of organisational objectives.
Synopsis This subject considers the development of organisational policy in the human resource management (HRM) area of management and explores how policy is translated into organisational practices (ie how it is implemented). The monitoring and evaluation of HRM policies and practices differ in response to different organisational structures, cultures, external environments, goals/objectives, etc.
Assessment Two essays (each 2000 words): 60% · Assignment (six 500-word short essays): 40% · Students must obtain a satisfactory result in all areas of assessment.
