Objectives The subject aims to develop knowledge of the theory and principles of strategic management and to equip students with the skills to practice 'strategic thinking' in their work environments. The ability to perceive uses from an overall organisational perspective is facilitated by analysis of national and international case studies.

Synopsis In this subject a strategic management framework introduces students to strategy concepts, strategy analysis, strategy choice and strategy implementation. The framework of strategic change is utilised to examine the relationship between corporate and business level strategies, and to examine the issues relating to strategic capability and strategy choice decisions in a global, integrated business environment. The implementation of strategy is discussed in the context of structure, culture and leadership factors.
