Objectives Students successfully completing this subject should be able to understand university lectures given in Japanese on non-specialist topics; comprehend natural discourses, provide consecutive interpreting at a higher level; recognise 1945 jooyoo kanji and read and translate a wide range of texts written for a Japanese audience using monolingual dictionaries.
Synopsis This is the final part of the accelerated Japanese program. Students will consult with a coordinator and choose two electives based on their strengths, weaknesses and interests. Options are 'interpreting', 'translation' and 'business communication'.
Assessment Dependant on student's choice of electives, based on the assessment requirements for an eight-point subject.
