Advanced Indonesian (in-country summer)

12 points -35 hours per week, 6 weeks intensive -Third semester (summer) or fifth semester (winter) -Indonesia -Prerequisites: INM0002 or INM4210 and INM4220 or equivalent

Objectives On successful completion of this subject students should have developed a deeper understanding of issues of importance in contemporary Indonesian life and should have developed the ability to communicate fluently and effectively both orally and in writing.

Synopsis A range of materials taken from the media are utilised to introduce students to issues in Indonesian society, and at the same time these form the basis for an extended examination of Indonesian grammatical structures and developing speaking and writing skills, using appropriate style and register.

Assessment Two progress tests: 30% -Final written examination: 50% -Daily assignments: 10% -Participation: 10% -A final mark is calculated by staff in Indonesia under supervision of the Monash University coordinator.
