12 points -35 hours per week, 6 weeks intensive -Third semester (summer) or fifth semester (winter) -Indonesia -Prerequisites: INM0001 or INM4110 and INM4120 or equivalent
Objectives On successful completion of this subject students should have developed a deeper understanding of the Indonesian language, have a command of an expanded vocabulary, more complex syntax, and be able to use communicative skills in a range of social situations. Students should gain an appreciation of the place of Indonesian literature in society.
Synopsis Lectures are devoted to a discussion of the development of Indonesian literature and literary materials from a variety of sources and genres are read and analysed from a cultural, social and grammatical viewpoint.
Assessment Two progress tests: 30% -Final written examination 50% -Daily assignments: 10% -Participation: 10% -A final mark is calculated by staff in Indonesia under supervision of the Monash University coordinator.
