3 points - 6 hours per week, including 2 studio hours and 4 independent study hours per week - Second semester - Caulfield and Gippsland - Prerequisites: FNA1502 - Corequisites: None - Prohibited combinations: FNA1402

Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students should possess formal skills in printmaking, especially in the areas of composition; have basic representational printmaking skills; appreciate the relationship between subject matter and its mode of representation; understand and practice health and safety procedures in the studio.

Synopsis This subject examines a range of procedures and techniques through set projects. While conceptual, aesthetic and theoretical concerns are addressed, this subject primarily concentrates on improving students' skills in the techniques acquired in FNA1502. It also extends an understanding of the found language of printmaking. Teaching is by group and individual tuition. Health and safety procedures are taught and practised in the printmaking studios.
