Objectives On the completion of this subject students will understand different theoretical perspectives used in the study of human behaviour; understand some of the complexities of investigating human behaviour; have acquired a knowledge of some of the factors that influence the development of behaviour, perceptual processes, and social interaction; understand how psychological principles can be applied in the workplace.

Synopsis The subject introduces basic principles of psychology with an emphasis on their application in everyday life. The subject is designed to assist the student in understanding human behaviour in various contexts. Topic areas include development, perception, learning, memory, personality, social psychology, stress and coping, group behaviour, and motivation.
