Clinical studies 3

Objectives Through relevant supervised clinical experience students will develop their radiographic and clinical skills in the examinations addressed in RAD2011. Students will continue their professional development with respect to the radiographic examinations included in RAD1051 and RAD1102. Students will develop their communication skills with both clinical staff and patients. Students will also be expected to implement the principles of quality control addressed in RAD2011.

Synopsis Non-contrast radiographic examinations of the abdomen will be conducted on adult patients who exhibit a range of clinical conditions and present in various ways, eg walking, in a wheelchair and on a trolley. Contrast studies of the gastrointestinal tract will be performed as well as mobile examinations across a wide variety of clinical settings together with theatre imaging under close supervision. Students will record their clinical and professional development in a portfolio.
