Objectives On completion of this subject students are expected to discuss important aspects and contemporary issues in relation to nursing research; demonstrate a sound knowledge base related to the research process; demonstrate a positive and informed attitude towards qualitative and quantitative research; perform simple statistical analysis.
Synopsis This subject introduces students to principles of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies used in nursing. The application of research in contemporary nursing practice, critical evaluation of research and appreciation of the value of research in extending nursing knowledge and practice will be addressed.
Assessment Essay: 50% * Examination: 50%
