Dr C Drummond

2 hours per week over 14 weeks

Synopsis This subject aims to provide students with the ability to apply sound principles of health policy development and program management to the economic, cultural, and political context, and the real public health needs of communities in developing countries.

Assessment A range of scenarios related to urban economic transitional settings will be provided to students. Each student will choose a scenario, conduct an analysis of the described health problem, including a literature search, and design an appropriate health promotion project to address the problem. Assessment will be based on an oral presentation describing the project design, as well as a written report (15 to 20 pages).
