Field methods for international health planning and evaluation

2 hours per week over 14 weeks

Synopsis This subject has been introduced to develop students' competence in the basic quantitative and qualitative tools used to manage community-based primary health care programs, including needs assessments, planning and evaluation, health information collection, and operations research in a developing country setting.

Assessment Each student will develop a study protocol related to a health or nutrition problem area in developing country context. Assessment will be based on an oral presentation where the student will describe the study approach and defend their protocol, as well as the written protocol (15 pages).
