Rural primary health care

Synopsis The subject deals with the `meaning' of primary health care (PHC) and discusses several misconceptions as interpreted by various professional groups. PHC is looked at from social justice, health policy, participation and health promotion with its central focus on the consumer in a variety of settings. Rural, remote and health of indigenous Australians is viewed through various programs based on principles of primary health care. Appropriate research methods related to PHC approach are considered in the assignments.
Special requirements Access to personal computer facilities and modem is desirable but not essential. Residential attendance is not required.
