Objectives At the completion of this subject students should understand the importance of process in the development of software; and how to apply various process-oriented tools in the management of the software process.

Synopsis Software engineering from a process viewpoint. The need to engineer the software process. Modelling the software process. Process models for various development paradigms, including object-orientation. Process and project management. Software quality management. Software process maturity and improvement, including ISO9000, CMM and IBM's cleanroom. Total quality management. Software evolution.
