Objectives At the completion of this subject students should have developed and demonstrated a good understanding of the applications and advantages of computer-supported information services, and the associated policy questions and principles related to technology management.

Synopsis An analysis of the provision of computer-supported information services by libraries, information agencies and commercial organisations. Aspects covered include information services presently available; management and policy issues related to the development of major information systems, the information industry and applications of information technology in Australia and overseas; and infrastructure requirements. Seminars, site visits and practical work form an integral part of the course.
