Objectives At the completion of this subject students should be able to define and research a topic of relevance to their course; demonstrate the capacity to work independently; demonstrate a capacity for analytic thought; and produce a reasoned and well-balanced piece of individual research.

Synopsis With the approval of the head of school, a student may work on a special topic in librarianship, archives or records management.

Assessment 8000-10,000-word research paper or equivalent
