Objectives To develop the software design and programming abilities needed to construct practical and efficient applications for use in a business environment and to provide an appreciation of the factors that contribute to software quality.
Synopsis Basic systems analysis and program design principles, data entry and validation, screen and output design, modular programming, use of a visual program development environment; files and databases, menu-task systems, program documentation, software evaluation, windows, colour, utility and library routines.
Assessment Two assignments: 60%
