Objectives On completion of this subject, students will be able to describe various categories of computer models applicable in business and industry; and apply the conceptual understanding of the role of models in the decision making process.

Synopsis Computer spreadsheets, project management, Monte Carlo simulation, customer service levels and inventory control, financial modelling and other decision support systems. Each topic is illustrated with a user-friendly computer package for use on a personal computer.

Assessment One assignment: 30%
* Examination (2 hours): 70%
