Objectives Students completing the subject will understand concepts and terminologies for programming with multimedia; obtain detailed knowledge of some standard multimedia file formats; understand techniques to perform conversion between multimedia file formats, to manipulate and program multimedia objects; be able to program multimedia objects for recording and playback; understand techniques for incorporating special effects in different media; be able to write programs for interactive multimedia applications including WWW applications.
Synopsis Object-oriented multimedia, media classes. Multimedia object representation and operations. Details of some standard multimedia file formats. Programming with multimedia file formats. Programming for recording and playing back of multimedia objects. Incorporating special effects and animation to multimedia objects. Multimedia programming for interactive multimedia applications, including WWW applications.
