Synopsis The syllabus may vary as a result of commercial developments, but the following is an indication of current contents. Early standards: 2780, HASP multileaving protocol, 3270 binary synchronous, historical background to SNA. SNA concepts and structure. Typical devices associated with SNA, eg VTAM, communications controllers, NCP, representative terminals. The operation of SNA. Recent developments, eg LU 6.2, LEN, local area networks. Other representative proprietary network architectures, eg DECNET, Novell Netware.

Assessment Written assignments (2 at 50% each): 100%
